Born and raised in Kansas City, Sara played every sport growing up. But when she picked up a tennis racket for the first time at 7 years old, she quickly fell in love with the sport. At 14 years old, she moved to Southwest Florida with her family to train at a full-time tennis academy. During high school and throughout college she competed internationally on the ITF junior and professional tennis tours.
Sara played Division 1 college tennis at Florida Gulf Coast University where she received a bachelor’s degree in English with minors in Creative Writing and Journalism. After Covid and a career-ending shoulder injury, she decided to go back to school in 2021, where she received her master’s degree in English from FGCU. She currently works as a literary agent and is an instructor at her alma mater teaching English and creative writing courses.
